PARENT INFORMATION

Parent participation is important to us.

We value your whānau (family) and endeavour developing a relationship built on honesty, trust, and transparency whilst your child attends our centre. We understand how unsettling the transition stage can be for your tamariki, so we encourage you to chat with us at any time.

Feedback is important for us and the growth of our centre, so we invite all of our families to join us in any centre-events or invitations that promote participation. We also have an open-door policy, so you are welcome in the centre at any time.

If you would like a meeting to discuss any particular issues, please see any of our team leaders or the centre manager to arrange a suitable time.

Storypark

At Waterview Early Learning Centre, we use Storypark to keep families updated in their child’s learning journey, and involved in our centre activities. We understand the difficulty of juggling time each week. So, alongside in-person catch-ups with our qualified teachers, we utilise the tools and technology of Storypark to provide parents further insight into your child’s experience with us.

Storypark is an app that can be downloaded on your phone, and you will receive notifications from us when a new story about your child or the centre has been posted. Not only do our families love Storypark for the insight, but it’s a safe and secure online community that connects them directly with our educators. For more information about Story Park, visit the Storypark website.

Lunch Boxes

At Waterview Early Learning Centre, we aim to support and encourage parents and whãnau to make healthy food choices for their children so that together we can teach children healthy eating behaviours to stay healthy and grow. Food offered should provide children with important nutrients and energy to be active.

Children must bring a named lunchbox and sustainable drink bottle daily.

If your child has specific dietary requirements, please advise our Centre Manager.

Sickness

Please let us know if your child is unable to attend due to sickness. We kindly ask you to keep your child home if they are sick.

As much as we would like to keep your child in our centre when sick, we would appreciate your cooperation if our staff need you to pick-up your child due to being symptomatic.

Attendance

Your child’s safety matters to us. In accordance with our Centre Policy, all children must be dropped off and collected by the person recorded in the enrolment form.

Please reach out if a parent or guardian would like to be added to the enrolment form if they will be picking up or dropping off your child. You will be given a unique code, used to identify yourself, which is entered through our centre iPad upon entrance.

Our team is always concerned with the welfare of each and every child in our centres. If you are aware of any intended absence for your child, then please inform the centre. Parents must give at least two weeks’ notice in writing before withdrawing your child or if you are wishing to change session times or days. All fees are payable during the two weeks notice period so the account can be settled before leaving the centre.

Medicine

Please advise our Centre Manager or Head Teacher if your child requires specific medication throughout the day.

Families are welcome to bring their own medicines for their child, so long as it is clearly labelled, has an expiry date, and is documented prior to administration.

If you require any assistance, please reach out to our friendly team.

Fees

Give us a call on 09 828 7872 to book a visit or for further information about our current promotions for new enrolments. We also accept WINZ Subsidy.
